Many authors struggle to get a book published and make a living writing bits and pieces and Rowling was one of these in the past. Now, it seems she is milking the Harry Potter merchandise and movie rights and then she sticks out this prequel knowing that every kid in the world wants more and more Harry Potter books.
My son is mad about them but he doesnt understand that this is just a way to milk the world out of every cent. I am the one that feels guilty when I have to say no to the latest Harry Potter toys, merchandise, DVD and now the Harry Potter Prequel book.
Whats next? I dont know but I know that I am going to be paying for it…..and then some.

when in doubt, follow the money. you are absolutely right, the only reason for a harry potter prequel is exactly that, squeezing another penny or two out of the franchise. the harry potter series started as a well written fantasy and you can tell that the strain of continuing the harry potter series has taken its toll on the quality of the writing.
You know what? You shouldn’t hate on J.K. Rowling. She’s created a much loved series of children’s books. The Harry Potter books are a wonderful tool to encourage our children to read. If she puts out a prequel to the series that is of the same quality as the rest of the series, more power to her! And if she happens to make a buck from the sale of Harry Potter merchandise, I’ll be happy to fund her future literary offerings.
My children have every toy, DVD, poster, book and any other merchandise and memorabilia that has come out for Harry Potter. My son sleeps in themed pajamas in his character themed bed.
So just reconsider your opinion on Harry Potter books, mister!
